I supervise the security for a large estate in Dallas. Recently we were hit with a lightning strike. 10% of the active 65 cameras were damaged or knocked offline. In addition, the alarm system was disabled. We immediately contacted an online technician and began the diagnosis of the system to determine the extent of damage and initiate the repair process. Using the online technician to evaluate the extent of damage also allowed us to arrange repair parts and cameras. The service department immediately scheduled two technicians to come onsite and complete the repair process. By close of business that day the alarm system was fully restored, and the video system was operational. By using on hand supplies and the onsite technicians\' ingenuity all but two cameras were fully operational. Outstanding service.

It was pleasure having Robert Kelsey in our office today. He’s very professional and kind. Our agency just moved and our office is not put together. Mr. Kelsey moved furniture to get to what he needed and put the furniture back and cleaned up behind himself. Thanks Robert.

Robert arrived promptly. He diagnosed the problem immediately. He replaced a broken camera and had the system restored in a few minutes. He removed the old camera and sent it in for repair. Quick, efficient, and a pleasant person to work with. Everyone in the service department is first class.

We installed the new camera inside the meat cooler and ran a Cat6 cable back to the server. A new network switch was installed and all wiring was terminated. The new camera was programmed, added to the existing system, and configured for proper operation.

We adjusted the camera to ensure optimal coverage and applied the required license to the system.

Camera Replacement for Office Building

DSS was contacted to replace the PTZ camera on the roof with a 16MP 180 Panoramic camera. We successfully replaced the PTZ camera on the roof viewing the visitors parking with a 180 camera. Next, we had to install a 6 x 6 x 4 weatherproof box. Replaced 4 feet of half inch seal tight and one seal tight connector. Lastly, we programmed camera at rooftop and adjusted the view. Customer verified everything functioned properly.

Camera Outage at a Gas Station

Customer contacted DSS becuase they were experiencing outages in two Digital Watchdog cameras. We installed three new cameras and added them to the system. We also adjusted the cameras for best coverage and verified video on the server.

Lockdown Button for Church

Plano, TX

March 12, 2025

Customer requested that DSS install an emergency lockdown button. We ran 22/4 wire from the panel to the office location and installed the lockdown button. We terminated the wires and programmed the button. We programmed the link to outputs. We also installed a RBSN relay and wired the relay into the DMP. Finally, we tested the system and verified the doors responded to the lockdown button.

Repaired Badge Reader at a Manufacturing Company

Customer reached out to DSS to repair the reader for the main car entrance gate. We urgently responded to this request as the gate was on a timer and would open automatically, posing a threat to their security. We were able to troubleshoot the issue and determined that we needed to pull new wire out to the gate. We insured the gate worked properly with the client.

Avigilon Server for Bank

Customer needed to get the cameras from PC4 viewable from the main office. We located the Avigilon server in the 3rd floor server room in PC4 and added new users to the system. I verified that Kelly could access the PC4 cameras from her desk.

Intercom & Door Station for a Clinical Laboratory

Customer wanted DSS to add an intercom as well a door station. DSS installed one answering station with audio and video. DSS also installed a wall mount adapter for the main entry intercom. Lastly, we installed the wedge on the front door unit. As always, we tested the unit to make sure everything functioned properly.

Repaired Intercom at Apartment Complex

Customer called in because their intercom was not working. We checked the call box at the front door and found the unit was dead then checked the file room and found the rack was dead. Next, we found the 110 plug at the wall and verified the power was good. Finally, we reseated the UPS power plug and the system powered back up. As always, we verified with client that equipment was working.

Migrated software to new server for a Realty Company

Customer wanted to move DSX and camera software to new machine. We successfully backed up the DSX, version 3.9.3 files and installed new DSX software onto the new virtual com server. Converted the database and verified the data was good, keyed the software to the new server and backed up the database. Finally, we changed the settings on the Lantronix unit and the verified DSX was communicating.

Cleaned and adjusted cameras for a Sushi Restaurant

The customer requested that all (44) cameras be cleaned and adjusted. Dallas Security Systems, Inc. successfully cleaned and adjusted the cameras we could access with a 24ft extension ladder. We also replaced some old cameras with new ones. At the end we tested all cameras to make sure that they were functioning properly and adjusted to view areas that the customers requested.

Addition of Mag Lock and Exit Button for Dietary Supplement Manufacturer

The customer contacted us to have a mag lock and exit button setup for the cage door. We pulled new wire from the DSX panels to the maintenance cage door. Installed and secured pipe at the door. Terminated the wires and reprogrammed the door. After the service was completed, we tested the door and verified that it worked properly.

Gate Control at a Commercial Real Estate Company

February 10, 2023

Customer contacted us to troubleshoot one of their gates that was malfunctioning. We accessed the gate controller and found that the loop detectors were unplugged at the gate motor. So, we reconnected the transformer, verified that the gate loops were working, and corrected the programming on gate down output for time zone triggers. Upon completion of the job we verified that gate operation for exit and entry was working.
